Our Apricot Kernel Shell, the raw natural material used for Apricot Scrub skincare ingredient, comes from the lush countryside of South Africa. Picked in the Autumn, Apricots are de-stoned and the shells broken to retrieve the kernel in a local family owned facility. Our shells are then transported by road to Cape Town for shipping to our processing plant in Suffolk. Shells are then sorted to remove any stray bits of the Apricot tree, spun in a centrifugal drier to ensure consistent moisture content and then processed in a Bepex mill to required grades.
